Rising Up! Original Album Cover Artwork

Painting the Philly skyline with watercolor and gouache paint was hell! But it was a cool project to work on with a cool person.

Rising Up! original album cover artwork for New York Times best selling author Omar Tyree.

Copy of my original sketch. Omar is a Philly native who wanted to rep his hometown on the cover of his debut spoken word album under his moniker, 'The Urban Griot'. So the skyline was a must. He's a hip-hop type of guy, so he got a hip-hop type of cover.

Sketch #2. To be honest, I enjoyed the sketching process on this project more than the final artwork. There was just a cool energy involved.

I didn't do the design for the actual CD, but this ultimately became the layout for Omar's debut album.
